We finally found a Lincoln! Really lucked out too. We originally went through Carmax which ended up being a hellish, torturous affair which I shall never put myself through again. Seriously, screw them. Because of them we went without a second car for nearly a month but the storm has cleared!
The one you see here, we stumbled upon by accident at a Ford & Lincoln dealer in Fredericksburg, VA. It hadn’t even been listed online yet because it had just been traded in. This one’s a 2015 MKC Select 2.0L AWD. It seemed to have been owned by an elderly individual judging by the thick-ass reading glasses I found in it and the fact that it only has 8600 miles on it. The Carfax Report was ridiculous. The previous owner brought it in for an oil change almost every 1,000 miles for a total of seven times in the three years they owned it. In immaculate condition inside and out. Very happy with it so far!!

Congratulations. I love it.
I’ve been looking at these myself if I’m honest. The 2.3 EcoBoost one seems like a potential future car for me.

Nice!! What was so hellish about Carmax BTW? I’m shopping now, and am currently considering them (though a bit skeptical tbh)—

Yeah, I was wondering that myself. My experiences with Carmax have been nothing but good. But then again, this is where their headquarters are located and the one I bought the TSX at was the very first one.

Shwew, long story honestly. The short version is that the car was damaged during transport on the roof. Chipped the pano-sun roof and put a big dent in the sheet metal. Because I didn’t have a step ladder to see if there was damage to the roof (my mistake honestly), we bought the car and took it home. I noticed the damage the next day while pumping gas and figured that it would be covered by Carmax because they touted their 30-day warranty and how customer-oriented they were. I was stuck because I didn’t want to take it to my insurance because I knew that it had been bought with the damage. I was called a liar three times by three different Carmax managers. Eventually a forth manager owned up and told me to pick out another car - they were going to allow a return because he saw the damage firsthand and agreed that it looked suspiciously like transport damage. So I picked a identically-spec’d car with like 8,000 miles less. It was priced at $1,000 above the one we bought originally, but they told me that they’d “work with me.” The car gets transferred in and they tell me I owe the full difference because they do not negotiate. I asked for a refund, which after some haggling they did (although they made it seem like they were doing me a favor the entire time). The whole ordeal took about two months of my life.

Read this as MGC, left disappointed.

Neat. Lincolns don’t get enough review time here, so I’m looking forward to yours.

What a crazy corner case situation. I guess the lesson is to always inspect your car before delivery. CarMax should’ve made it right. I’m surprised that the manager isn’t better and you can’t complain to corporate or they’re not empowered enough from a customer satisfaction standpoint

The original manager who insisted that I was lying and that I damaged the car was actually fired - crazy situation indeed. I’m 23 years old, so I don’t know if they just thought they could jerk me around because of my age or what. It was like pulling teeth the whole way through.
The lesson learned was CERTAINLY to ALWAYS inspect every single part of the car.
I looked like a fool when we picked out our new one yesterday. Had my head under every corner of the car, standing on the tires, opening and shutting all the doors and windows to make sure they were all straight and sealed...

Even though you’ve already gotten another one, it may be worth the time to call their corporate number. It may lead to nothing, but at least those higher up in the chain can be made aware of the situation. IME CarMax has been nothing but amazing to work with. I have a foolish acquaintance who bought a 2010 equinox with the 2.4L engine (word to the wise: Don’t ever buy anything from GM with a 2.4, 1.8, 1.5, or 1.4L engine. Really, avoid GM in general but I digress), which the owner apparently had done just enough to in order to make it seem like a vehicle worth reconditioning, because it passed their inspection and was sold to my foolish acquaintance. He put about 3K miles on it in about 6 weeks (road trip to CO last weekend, most notably - did I mention he’s foolish?) of ownership, and then the engine started to act badly. Turned out it had burned up almost all of the oil (as the 2.4Ls are known to do, but usually not that quickly). Anyway, even though he was outside of their warranty, they put him in a loaner and sent it to a GM dealership which replaced the block, pistons, rings, timing chain, etc., due to one of the apparently many extensions on the warranty for those shitboxes. However, even with the new parts, my foolish acquaintance felt nervous about the longevity of the car, and CarMax bought it back from him! They actually got him in a slightly-older but better-equipped and lower-miles RAV4 which he likes much better except the spare tire protruding above the rear window. He didn’t even have to call customer service, they just took care of it.
